What is some good stable stock that is good to invest in for the long term? Im not looking for get-rich-quick stuff, just stable stock.
Im think Wal-Mart and Target are good bets, anymore?

If you want blue chip companies, you will find plenty of funds with just that. However I'd say to put money in different types of funds too. (big companies would be "income" or "large cap" afaik. Put some in that, the middle, and the small caps, and even international)
Find good funds with 10+ year track records, and you can see what percentage of return they've given over time and even how they weathered bad times.
