What I still don't understand is why a vanilla load of 2.2 or 2.3 couldn't work. Like Win7 can be loaded on any computer, any time, and you get a few driver tweaks. Aren't google phones supposed to run their vanilla source code, and just get reactivated on the intended carrier? Or does google only provide a limited source, then samsung has to tweak it, then verizon has to tweak it - meaning there is no vanilla option to be loaded?
