I recently had an unpleasant experience with my upstairs neighbor. Her water heater exploded when she was out of town and it flooded my condo, she refused to cooperate and give me her insurance (she would never return my calls or anything, fucking pissed me off), even though she is legally obligated to pay for the damages. My insurance company paid for it, but I had to pay the $500 deductible out of pocket.
So I've filed a lien against her. I don't care about the money, but I want her to pay out of principle. The state will force her to pay up when she decides to sell her place, she will be pleasantly surprised.
