All raid content is 10 or 25-man now. They drop the same gear, just in different quantities (25-man drops more per player). Doing raids, dungeons, and heroics also earns you a form of currency -- a low currency (dungeons, heroics, raids off of the top tier), and a high currency (top tier raids, daily random heroics).
Doing a heroic a day will eventually get you enough points to buy a few pieces of gear on par with the top end raiding instances. It'll also give you enough points to buy a lot more pieces of gear on par with what's necessary to enter the top end raiding instances. When blizzard adds a new top-end raid, they're rolling all of the gear purchasable through the top-end currency down the the lower one, so you'll always be able to gear up for the current high-end raids without needing to do a bunch of older raid content.
As this happens, older raid content will become easier, and it'll be easier to just do a one-night run of a raid. They're also working on condensing the length of raids (offering the same number of raid bosses per tier, but distributed among multiple raids), making it even easier to raid.
The game has a whole fuckton less suck than it did back in TBC, and isn't even the same game as vanilla any more. Hell, even WotLK -> Cata is removing a lot of the bad.
