Who knows, we may have been using it this entire time and all that was flipped was changing from TCP streams to UDP datagrams. There may have been an obscure compile error or a broken dependency on the server side. WE DON'T KNOW.
And frankly I'm willing to trust Blizzard has the technical expertise and resources to figure out how to solve this and get it launched in time. If you look at all the RTSes that have come out over the years since SC's launch, guess which one is still played by thousands if not hundreds of thousands daily? Despite numerous technically superior competitiors, which one is still the benchmark for a multiplayer RTS, in both strategic depth and technical design?
I seriously doubt Blizzard is going to botch this.
