I have been trying to think of a decent contest to give away 2 copies of the retail version of SC2.
1-100 contests are dumb and are just spam fests.
Art contests are dumb because most people can't draw.
So what I have decided to do is to hold a Shack SC2 Beta tournament.
First place is going to get a Collectors Edition of SC2.
Second place is going to get a standard retail box of SC2
Third place will get a $30 Amazon gift card.
I know the prizes aren't much compared to some other tournaments going on, but this is coming directly out of my pocket.

On one hand, great, the goal of Ladder+Rank is to give players some sense of progress and motivation in a simpler manner than some crazy region-wide placement of 91,233rd of 1,129,121 players. I also understand that this obfuscation can help protect against smurfing.
But the behavior encouraged by the current League+Rank system seems silly, and bad for the community. Also, I think because of this dual-system, everyone is confused by what the League+Rank really means.
Not that I have a better suggestion. However, I'm pretty confident that Blizzard is willing to toss out any system and put in a new one if need be.
