I have been trying to think of a decent contest to give away 2 copies of the retail version of SC2.
1-100 contests are dumb and are just spam fests.
Art contests are dumb because most people can't draw.
So what I have decided to do is to hold a Shack SC2 Beta tournament.
First place is going to get a Collectors Edition of SC2.
Second place is going to get a standard retail box of SC2
Third place will get a $30 Amazon gift card.
I know the prizes aren't much compared to some other tournaments going on, but this is coming directly out of my pocket.

There will always be a set of strats are easier to execute than defend. If the ladder's meta-game transitions to something to counter one of these, than a new one will slowly take its place so long as its profitable to do so.
Right now the ladder seems to reward wins significantly more than it penalizes losses, which turns the whole thing into more of a grind than a ranking of skill. If that's the case, then the "optimal" strategy for playing the ladder is to do one of these all-in rushes and leave if its counter in order to maximize the number of games played.
