A few things I love in Atlanta that I don't get now or the other places I've lived:
Cheap
- The Varsity. Atlanta staple, burgers/fries/chili dogs, cashiers greet you in a unique fashion, good, greasy
- Taco Mac. Despite the "Taco" name, they are famous for their Buffalo Wings and they are GREAT. Extensive beer selection, sports bar vibe with great food, there's a few locations scattered throughout the metro area.
- Taqueria Del Sol. Amazing taco place in Decatur, there's also a location in Roswell. Try the fish tacos - fried tilapia with jalapenos. So good. Great Queso dip. I also recommend Willy's for quick Mexican, but it's not so much a place to go out of your way to visit.
- Gladys Knight's Chicken and Waffles. It sounds ridiculous and it makes no sense but it's GOOD!
- Dusty's BBQ. My favorite BBQ joint in Atlanta, near Emory U
- The Mad Italian. If you want a cheesesteak for some reason, go here.
Pricier
- Nino's off Cheshire Bridge Road. GREAT Italian, nice without being TOO fancy, not overpriced. Don't mind the area, it's Atlanta's very special mix of restaurants and old people hangouts featuring strip clubs and adult novelty stores on the other side of the street :)
