* Repast - amazing fine dining (located in Midtown on Glen Iris between Ponce and North).
* Brickstore Pub - rated 2nd best bar in country, amazing Belgian beer selection and great bar food - get the spicy mustard (located in downtown Decatur).
* Zuma Sushi - one of the best sushi places around, also it's usually not packed like MF Sushi is so you typically don't need a reservation (located sorta in between Cabbage Town and Midtown on Highland).
* La Fonda - awesome cheap Mexi-cuban restaurant, amazing salmon burritos, fish tacos, queso and salsa as well (multiple locations but the best is in Midtown on Ponce).
* Fellinis - awesome pizza, open late (located next to all La Fonda's coincidentally).
* Neighbors - best chicken nachos ever, they use melted runny cheese and none of that sprinkled-baked-in-the-oven bullshit... the real deal! (located in Virginia Highlands on Highland).
* Taqueria de Sol - huge variety of small $2 tacos and great margaritas (located in downtown Decatur).
* Porter - haven't been here yet but supposed to be one of the best new bars with a great selection (located in Little 5 Points).
* Harry & Sons - Thai restaurant with sushi (located in Virginia Highlands on Highland). There are actually quite a bit of good Thai restaurants in ATL and I can give you more in the list if you're interested.
* Vortex - awesome awesome burgers with a large variety, also great tater tots (multiple locations but best is Little 5 Points).
My tip, just stay out of Buckhead. And if you're a sushi lover, stay away for Rusan's... I don't care who suggests it.
Also check out the Georgia Aquarium downtown. It's the largest (or was when it was built) aquarium in the world. Save the large room for last, so basically when you walk in, start on your left. It's impressive.
