there's still a chance it could all fail, but even after reading this asshole-ish response to the 'feedback', i've never been more excited for the game than i am right now. as soon as i loaded up the demo and checked out the map, i thought how cool it would be if we could make our own races, (i really wanted to make one that's long as hell and went all over the fucking place) but i thought it would be too hard for them to implement something like that and probably not a high priority with all the other stupid stuff they are doing in this game. then i thought they might be able to do it if they kept it point to point only like the demo race, but i thought that wouldn't be exciting in the long run if you couldn't have waypoints to make a sort of track that requires specific turns and routes and whatnot. then finally last night i found out it's been a feature of the game for a while now.
why the fuck aren't they pimping this? why have i heard no mention of this feature until last night?
like halo 3's gametype customization and forge, this is sometime where freedom of choice offers crazy replay value and i'm glad it's in there rather than not.
and without the open world setting, we wouldn't have this option. of course there are downsides to the whole thing, and it's a big departure from the past games, but i think i'm starting to see the light :<
the demo was lackluster, yeah. but if they pull this off, holy shit.
