Who is Doctors Without Borders?
Doctors Without Borders (Médecins Sans Frontières) is an international medical humanitarian organization providing aid in nearly 70 countries to people whose survival is threatened by violence, neglect or catastrophe, primarily due to armed conflict, epidemics, exclusion from health care, natural disasters, or malnutrition.
MSF provides independent, impartial assistance to those most in need. MSF reserves the right to speak out to bring attention to neglected crises, to challenge inadequacies or abuse of the aid system, and to advocate for improved medical treatments and protocol. In 1999, MSF was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize for its work.

That Gimmick! run was actually pretty cool. Never heard of it before but it had some neat mechanics for speed runs.

Me: "That was one of the more impressive runs I've ever seen. How long did it take you to memorize? Do you use particular mnemonics to recall what to do?
"I was really bummed when you finally made an error because I knew there was no way to recover :("
Him: "The route itself took a couple days to learn to the point where given a picture of the stage and the matching part of the piece sequence, I knew what goes where. I memorized this by visualizing what goes where and remembering those mental images. It took several more months to actually cement in memory to the point that I could remember it fast enough to keep up with the game without hesitating constantly, which was the hard part.
"After that was actually doing it blindfolded, which was a few weeks of learning the piece sounds and cementing the order of the stages in memory. My mental algorithm is basically:
"1. Listen to the sound for the next piece.
"2. If it's the piece I want to place next, proceed. Else, hold it because the piece in my hold box should be the right one.
"That's the simple version, plus I also need to remember how many to skip at the start of each stage and whether to hold the first piece. If something went wrong I could use the piece sounds to improvise, count how many excess pieces I used, and deduct that from the skip count for the next stage. At some points I knew the stage even better due to lots of practice and I knew when to hold without the piece sounds. Unfortunately this was ultimately my downfall in EX5, because I forgot to hold the S and dropped it instead of the O piece. I tried to recover by improv but unfortunately the S covered up the hole for the O and it was just unrecoverable."
