Battleborn gets star-struck into delayed May release

2K Games has had its second major delay in as many weeks, with Battleborn now going from a February release into a new May release date.

While Battleborn appears to be coming along nicely with 2K and Gearbox recently revealing new elements of both the camapaign and competitive multiplayer, it appears that the game is going to need some more time in the oven. Sprinkled into today's Take-Two Interactive Software fiscal second quarter results was the newsy bit that Battleborn's release will now be pushed back to May 3.

No reason was given for the sudden move to May from the original February 9 release date, but this marks the second high-profile delay for 2K Games in recent weeks. The other delay was for XCOM 2, which went from November to February 5. Oddly enough, the silver lining could be that 2K is no longer competing against itself during the month of February.

Ozzie has been playing video games since picking up his first NES controller at age 5. He has been into games ever since, only briefly stepping away during his college years. But he was pulled back in after spending years in QA circles for both THQ and Activision, mostly spending time helping to push forward the Guitar Hero series at its peak. Ozzie has become a big fan of platformers, puzzle games, shooters, and RPGs, just to name a few genres, but he’s also a huge sucker for anything with a good, compelling narrative behind it. Because what are video games if you can't enjoy a good story with a fresh Cherry Coke?
