We’ll be enjoying 6-months worth of downloadable content for Batman: Arkham Knight, and the first will be released next week and will focus on Batgirl’s story, titled Batgirl: A Matter of Family. While we already know some details surrounding the upcoming DLC, we’re learning some additional information as well as seeing its first in-game screenshot.

Batgirl: A Matter of Family will be set prior to the events of Batman: Arkham Asylum as Batgirl is on the hunt to rescue her father, Commissioner Gordon, who has been kidnapped by Joker. Batgirl will be fighting across a new area called the Seagate Amusement Park and will have a nautical theme to it, although it’s built on top of an oil rig that’s designed to turn into a death trap. She’ll occasionally team up with Robin, which we’re sure will include some dual-team takedowns.

We’re also learning more about Batgirl’s hacking abilities, which was introduced as a way to distinguish her from Batman. “Our intention was that Batgirl should be less powerful than Batman, but that Batgirl plus hacking could give her opportunities do things that not even Batman can pull off,” designer Justin Vazquez said during an interview with Entertainment Weekly. “Hacking is really what separates her from the other characters. It’s a gameplay mechanic with which the player can create situations for Batgirl to really shine.”

Batgirl: A Matter of Family is scheduled to be released on July 14 for season pass holders and will be available for individual purchase on July 21 for $6.99.

Looks good. For $7 that's reasonable.

Sounds good, but I need to know how long it's going to be. For $7, it probably won't be very long, but hopefully AT LEAST an hour as opposed to the 10-20 minutes of the Harley and Red Hood DLC.

Also, that's a week from now for season pass holders. I wonder if it will be available for PC users despite the game still not being for sale? Hey, maybe the BIG patch will be out by then! HAHAhahahaa.

Except that looks like tanned human flesh on her boots and gloves and chest symbol.

Yes, it keeps throwing me off. It looks like she's wearing shorts and garters.

Oh cool! You can actually see this boat with a carnival on it floating around out there in the distance from Wayne Tower. I was wondering what the significance of that was.
