Code Name S.T.E.A.M. represents a rarity from Nintendo circles: a brand-new first-party IP, which is a good part of the reason why it was shrouded in secrecy at this year's E3. Now Nintendo is looking to share a little more about the upcoming 3DS strategy title from the creators of Advance Wars and Fire Emblem, including an official release window.

The trailer below shows off the comic book art style that S.T.E.A.M. will employ. It also shows off the steam-based abilities and how they can be used against the invading alien menace. Of course, it's also important to remember that steam will be a limited resource. It also introduces some of the cast of characters that will utilize steam to their advantage. And yes, that includes President Abraham Lincoln.

To check out Code Name S.T.E.A.M. in action, watch the new video below. The game is set to hit Nintendo 3DS in Spring 2015.

Ozzie has been playing video games since picking up his first NES controller at age 5. He has been into games ever since, only briefly stepping away during his college years. But he was pulled back in after spending years in QA circles for both THQ and Activision, mostly spending time helping to push forward the Guitar Hero series at its peak. Ozzie has become a big fan of platformers, puzzle games, shooters, and RPGs, just to name a few genres, but he’s also a huge sucker for anything with a good, compelling narrative behind it. Because what are video games if you can't enjoy a good story with a fresh Cherry Coke?
