The PT teaser terrifies the Shacknews video crew

If you missed it earlier this week, the Shacknews video crew played through the PT teaser. The results were terrifying... for Andrew.

On its surface, PT appeared to be just another horror game for PS4. But it quickly grew into something far more explosive, especially for the big twist at the end.

Of course, the PT teaser is totally horrifying in its own right and our own Shacknews video crew thought it'd be something worth running through. This resulted in some pants-wetting terror, especially for our own Andrew Zucoski.

Catch the frightening display in the video below. For more from our video team, be sure to subscribe to Shacknews on YouTube and be on the lookout for our live streams on Twitch.

Ozzie has been playing video games since picking up his first NES controller at age 5. He has been into games ever since, only briefly stepping away during his college years. But he was pulled back in after spending years in QA circles for both THQ and Activision, mostly spending time helping to push forward the Guitar Hero series at its peak. Ozzie has become a big fan of platformers, puzzle games, shooters, and RPGs, just to name a few genres, but he’s also a huge sucker for anything with a good, compelling narrative behind it. Because what are video games if you can't enjoy a good story with a fresh Cherry Coke?

Jeezus, that is terrifying and I was watching it on my One M7... The speakers on this thing made it way more stressful than without!

Watched this the other day and enjoyed it. People love watching others be afraid, so you guys should make this a regular thing. Have Andrew or Sammy play through a scary game. I'd tune in.

OK kids! It's time for Siren: Blood Curse.

          - still available on PSN for PS3
          - by the Silent Hill creator
          - the game mechanic involves split screens with parallel POVs played in tandem, which would be even more insane and infuriating playing together as a team.
          - best horror game of the last gen

(although Fatal Frame or original Siren are scarier)

I would tune in and sympathize with y'all.

I hope the actual game doesn't have this "timing" crap that you have to figure out. I think it's cool to watch but how the fuck is anyone supposed to figure all this stuff out?

Ha! I thought it was torque because of the way she was twisting. The nerdiness of it made it funnier

I've never played a console game that was scary. I find it more scary/intimate when you have headphone and staring at a PC monitor in the dark than watching a tv some many feet away. :(

(Not trying to bust your chops or anything - these are the scariest non-PC games I've played and there are a few here that are the most scary ever made, even compared to ones that came to PC or were PC only)

      Great vid!

Admittedly, I turned to a walkthrough to get through the teaser. Did anyone else experience a moment where they started feeling less scared? What was the point in the teaser that you realized there was some obscure puzzle to solve?
