The "holiday build" of Dragon Age Inquisition has been completed. So what does that mean? It means the main storyline is "completely playable from beginning to end." To celebrate, BioWare has released new screenshots of the game.

During the holiday break, BioWare employees will be able to play the story and "get pacing and spacing right" through testing. In addition, all of the gameplay systems should be working together at this point, making sure that each class has a distinctive feel. Finally, tech has to be "locked down." Of course, you probably just want to see the pretty visuals. But if you want more info on the game, you can read executive producer Mark Darrah's update on the game.

I mean, why the fuck would they even put that in a press release? Do they really feel that they have to prove it's in a playable state; "See somebody can play it right now!".

I'm surprised it wasn't DICE saying it trying to placate gamers.

Oh seriously? Are you all children that don't have jobs or understand how things work. It's a job and something these people have been working on for a long time. There are going to be many individuals who are going to be stoked to be at this point in their dev cycle and can't wait to get through the rest of it. They are going to be so damn happy to be in this area of development because they can almost taste the release. It's not like they will be fucking chained to a laptop with a camera on them giving them shock therapy because they are not play testing the build. Get the fuck over yourselves you whiny fucktarts.

As much as they've shit all over their core audience, if it's just like DA1 I'd play it.

I know no one at EA will read this, but you guys have to prove to me you can pull this off. Because I will wait so that if this is a buggy launch like SimCity, crashy unfinished product like BF4, or fucked from the original like Dead Space 3, I won't have wasted my money.

Also, Origin exclusive = no purchase.

Well since you just said you wouldn't buy it, the rest of requests are kind of pointless...

No, you said if it was Origin exclusive that'd be a dealbreaker, and it definitely will be so you may as well save yourself some time and not bother reading the reviews

"I know no one at EA will read this..."

Nope. If it is a major news site, chances are that some percentage of the team working on that game will have sought it out, reading both the article and comments. I didn't stop being a fan of video games or the community around them when I started making them at EA; quite the opposite in fact. If my experience has been any indication, the actual developers on a title will be far more sensitive to and critical of the problems with their game and its predecessors than anyone outside of the development process.

As for DA:I, it looks awesome from what I've seen of it though I can appreciate anyone waiting for the reviews/first week user impressions to roll in before purchasing themselves.

Yeah EA I hate you but instead of just not buying your game or ignoring you I will still buy them but I'll take every chance I get to say mean stuff about you you big meanies.

i think this one is going to be a good one as the devs prolly learned from the DA2 debacle; still, i ain't preordering it until I see reviews.
