Baldur's Gate: Enhanced Edition finally available for iPad
by John Keefer, Dec 07, 2012 7:45am PSTAfter a delay of more than a week, Baldur's Gate: Enhanced Edition has finally been released for the iPad. The PC version came out on November 28, but the iPad version had been delayed because of a crash bug found by Apple.
The iPad version is available on the iTunes Store for $9.99. Beamdog president Trent Oster said via Twitter that this version is only for iOS 6 and that support for iPad1 and iOS 5.1 is still in the works.
That iPad price is cheaper than the $19.99 PC version bcause there is slightly less new content. The characters of Neera and Dorn are available as an in-app DLC purchase, as well as a voice pack. Oster said that the goal was to keep the cost low for of the iPad version, but to do that they needed to leave some new content as DLC.
An Android edition is planned, but no release date has been announced. If you missed the review, the game is definitely enhanced, and still a great experience that holds true to the original classic RPG.
