Shack PSA: Diablo 3 real money auction house live
by Andrew Yoon, Jun 12, 2012 3:05pm PDTDiablo 3's real-money auction house is now live for players in the Americas. The long-awaited system will allow Diablo fanatics to buy, sell, and trade rare loot from the game with real US dollars.
You can access the auction house from the campaign screen, prior to entering a game, by selecting the Auction House button from the left-side menu. If you are in the middle of playing a game, you will first need to leave the game and return to the main campaign screen in order to access the auction house.
Of course, as with any online auction, Blizzard will take a cut for any sales transacted. According to the official FAQ, a fixed transaction fee will be deducted for equipment, such as weapons and armor. The fee is currently $1. "Stackable" items, such as crafting materials, gems, and gold will have a 15% transaction fee deducted from the total sale price. In addition, transferring any money from your Blizzard account to PayPal will incur an additional 15% fee.
If you want to start selling in the real-money auction house, make sure you get your hands on a fancy authenticator.
