$99 Xbox expanding to more stores
by Steve Watts, Jun 05, 2012 11:25am PDTMicrosoft was quiet about it's new initiative to offer cheaper Xbox 360s subsidized by a subscription at its press conference, but it's driving forward with the plans nonetheless. The company announced today that $99 Xbox 360 will be available at Best Buy and GameStop stores later this month.
The word from the Major Nelson blog didn't drop a specific date to look forward to, but recommends calling your local store if you're interested.
The bundle includes a 4GB Xbox 360 with Kinect, but requires a two-year agreement for Xbox Live at $15 a month. It comes out to slightly more than the cost of that Xbox model, Kinect, and two years of Gold than if you were to buy it all at once.
