Call of Duty Elite has 2 million paying subscribers

Activision's Call of Duty Elite subscription service now has two million paying members.

Activision's Call of Duty Elite subscription service now has two million paying members, growing by 33% since the end of January. With a $50 price tag, Activision has managed to squeeze out $100 million in additional revenue from Call of Duty players.

More than 10 million gamers have registered for Call of Duty Elite, meaning only 20 percent of players have opted to convert to the premium version of the service, in spite of an aggressive "season of content" provided to paying members.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 is launching later this year, and will introduce Elite 2.0. Will Activision be able to continue growing the service for its second year?

Paying monthly fees for what was free 6 months ago, signalling this as a success so more companies and more games do it sucks ass.

really it costs £60 for elite subscrition.

it costs £12 per map pack. if they release 4 map packs thats £48

          £48 + £60 = £98 (minus the £10 your saving)

so your spending £60 to save £10. Do you work in the banking sector by any chance?

Atleast it isn't some stupid $50 roster update. I never understood why people would pay full price for a football game that basically amounted to a roster update and other very minor changes.

Paying a monthly fee to play against cheating script kiddies? That sounds like an excellent plan.

When you can find a good server without the cheaters, sure it can be fun, but in an hours time that server will likely get a cheater soon... then its crap.

      Protip cheaters.... 85 kills and 0 deaths.... I don't think you're elite... I think you're a tool.

I don't know anyone who still plays these games. I don't know anyone who plays madden either, so there's got to be a whole community of morons who I never interact with.
