Battlefield 3 open beta begins September 29
by Alice O'Connor, Sep 20, 2011 6:35am PDTThe much-anticipated Battlefield 3 multiplayer open beta test will begin for PC, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 on September 29, publisher Electronic Arts has announced.
The beta includes the Parisian map Operation Metro for Rush Mode, as seen in the closed alpha test. The competitive mode sees one team attempting to push through to the Paris stock exchange through a park and the Metro tunnels, while the other has to stop them.
While the beta will be open to all and sundry, there are ways to get in on the fun early. If you pre-ordered BF3 from EA's digital store Origin, you can get into the beta early, from September 27. This is also when those who foolishly pre-ordered Medal of Honor on the promise of early BF3 beta access will be able to play.
Developed by DICE, Battlefield 3 launches for PC, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 on October 25.
