Video of new Xbox 360 dashboard shows off new Bing features
by Xav de Matos, Aug 17, 2011 4:00pm PDTDuring its E3 2011 media briefing, Microsoft revealed a number of new additions to the Xbox 360 dashboard feature list, including Bing search. In a new video from the official Microsoft blog, the company continues to talk highly of its next console update, outlining how the simple idea is one step closer to removing barriers of entry for those less technologically inclined.
Using Bing, users can access any type of content available on the Xbox 360 console. Want to know all the Batman content available on the Xbox 360? Simply say "Xbox 'Bing' Batman" and every piece of Batman related content available appears. Of course, this function is only available for users sporting Microsoft's Kinect peripheral, which has a barrier of entry equal to about $150.

right now having separate menus for kinect and regular xbox is retarded. switching between the 2 is annoying and the kinect one is pretty useless with the lack of things you can access.
i don't know how heavily i'll use the my hands to navigate the menus since when i play a game i have my controller ready and when i watch a movie, i have my universal remote ready (i had to to turn the tv on and change the video input). Being able to say Xbox bing bastion and have it be just one button press or play bastion command from there would be a lot faster than how I'm doing it now.
