The offerings are pretty slight for the moment as far as major stand-out applications and games, but everyone should get the official Twitter client (Tweetie 2.0).

I put my friend on to Handbrake to rip some of his DVDs to his hard drive. Now he has these MP4 files - which don't play in Windows Media Player.
I know one option is to convert him to using VLC, but is there a codec pack or something that will allow him to use MP4 files in WMP? I don't want to accidently end up with some spyware stuff which seems to come up when you search for codecs...
