Evening Reading
by Brian Leahy, Jan 06, 2011 5:00pm PSTTime to go record a new episode of Weekend Confirmed. How's everyone finding the Mac App Store so far? The offerings are pretty slight for the moment as far as major stand-out applications and games, but everyone should get the official Twitter client (Tweetie 2.0).
What gems have you found on there?
Gaming News of the Day
- Microsoft announced a few things at CES.

- Panasonic VT30, G30, and S30 plasmas are the shit. The VT30 is probably the best display since the Kuro, fucking gorgeous.
- Razer Switchblade is a neat idea but way too fucking small. The keys are also teeny tiny. If you want to play WoW or Quake on a DSi XL, be my guest.
- Blackberry Playbook seems nice, but what was on the floor is very very much a work in progress. The interface isn't as responsive or accurate as it should be and the UI is incomplete. It is my first CES but I'm surprised at the number of prototypes on the floor (Corsair had a very cool PC hardware monitoring prototype in their booth).
- Speaking of Corsair, cool cool stuff, they might be my favorite PC related company out there. The 650D is fantastic. New H60 cooling unit is also ace.
- The 3D point and shoot camera that I tried out gave me a headache in 30 seconds. :(
Also, holy crap there is a lot of shit out there. I have no idea how companies expect people to buy some of this crap.

They claim that they want it small for true PC gaming on the go, literally in your pocket, but that either smacks of denial (we had to make it super tiny to make it affordable) or flat out bad decision making.
