Tycho Brahe's watch, a new gun for the Heavy and other new Team Fortress 2 items will be unlockable in Poker Night at the Inventory, Telltale and Valve have announced.

In special rounds of Telltale's cross-over poker game, players will use personal items as ante, which you will unlock as TF2 items if you win the hand. The four players--Max of Sam & Max, Penny Arcade's Tycho, Homestar Runner's Strong Bad and TF2's Heavy--each have their own prized possessions to toss into the pot, as listed below:

  • "The Iron Curtain" weapon, for use by the Heavy in TF2
  • Max's Lugermorph handgun for use by the Scout and the Engineer in TF2; and Max's Freelance Police badge wearable by any player in TF2
  • Wrist watch from Penny Arcade's Tycho for the Spy in TF2
  • Styling "Dangeresque" sunglasses anted in by Strong Bad, wearable by Demoman in TF2

You'll also score a poker visor for the Heavy if you pre-order. Poker Night at the Inventory can be pre-ordered for $4.95 from Telltale, where you'll also get 25% off most other items when you buy, or $4.49 at Steam. It's due out on PC and Mac later this month.

If these are only cosmetic changes to existing gameplay items, I don't really mind. If they have their own unique gameplay tweaks, then I agree, this shit is getting way the hell out of control.

Its not known for sure yet, but most are assuming the weapons are just re-skins. Max's gun was when it was a pre-order bonus for a Sam & Max episode.

It's pretty clever, though, my community thing on steam just says everyone on my friends list purchased this game, it's insane - Adding a few TF2 items guarantees high sale, it's absolutely crazy.

Also, the game actually looks fun(ny) and cool - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w6HN3TsI8cw

Well also it's $5 and everyone likes Poker. It's the sort of game that can only really work if a ton of people buy it so making it cheap seems brilliant

The $5 thing is right, the everyone likes poker is not. No one bought this to actually play.

Remember way back when, when I bitched about horse armor non-stop? Yeah, this is the kind of shit I foresaw.
