Evening Reading: Labor Day Edition

It's been a quiet Labor [sic] Day here at Shacknews as the video games industry has mostly been out in the garden with a beer in one hand and a hotdog in the other, not to mention I've been working by myself. Still, I hope that whoever and wherever you are, you have come to appreciate the labouring classes a little bit more than you did before.

Me, I've been working hard all labour day so nobody appreciates long, hard slog better than me. Crumbs, what a gruelling day! I think I'll unwind by playing the PC version of Chime, which unlocked on Steam while I was writing this post. I already have the Xbox 360 edition but this'll make a fine addition to my netbook for travel fun.

  • I took my kids to the Canadian Exhibition yesterday and it was boring as usual but the kids like it and really my guilty pleasure is the air show.

Anyways I got to visit the Sony Playstation trailer there and they had their motion control demonstration up. Thoughts in reply.

No not really. It sucked. I was swatting bugs with their penis wand trying to get a high score. Everyone cheered when I broke the high score. They badly need a killer apps for this for it to even remotely sell.

I also got to play the 3D version of Motorstorm. This was the glassed 3D and again it looked neat but still not worth the money nor is it worth the effort to even turn on the 3D glasses. I remember going to 7-11 back in the early 80s to get the red/blue 3D glasses to watch the monster movies on TV and I'll be damned if we're going to advance 25 years only to do more glasses 3D.
