We've had our ups and we've had our downs, but it's been a pretty good first week to start off the new year. It will no doubt be remembered as vividly and with the same fondness as all the other first-weeks-of-the-year past. That is, not much at all.
The weekend is almost upon us. May yours be as fun and exciting as an endless stream of sharp news, snappy headlines, and witty comments from Faylor, Alice, Garnett, Jeff, and the rest of the Shack.

In response to the unfortunate circumstances, some wives of Rockstar San Diego employees have collected themselves to assert their concerns and announce a necessary rejoinder, in the form of an immediate action to ameliorate conditions of employees.
The turning for the worse came approximately in the month of March of 2009. Till present, the working conditions persists to deteriorate as employees are manipulated by certain hands that wield the reigns of power in Rockstar San Diego. Furthermore, the extent of degradation employees have suffered extends to their quality of life and their family members. Though it is presumed, this unfortunate circumstance is due largely to ignorance and unawareness of most, with enlightened knowledge, action must be taken to protect the rights of employees and those who depend on them. Realizing that such broad claims could hardly spark any interest to take a stand, a better illustration of the wrongs made unto Rockstar San Diego workers is necessary. Futhermore, the detailed descriptions about to be given can serve as a starting point as it will provide a clearer direction for change.

As usual, my iPhone earbuds are totally fucked and don't work anymore so I am on the hunt again for a new set of headphones. It's really hard to find good ones that meet my requirements:
a) less than $150
b) has the 'clicky' button
c) has a microphone
d) not flimsy
Has anyone found anything good under that price that does these things? I figure people need this shit all the time so someone has to know! TIA.

Is there any way to play video files at an increased speed with MPC or VideoLan? I'd like to watch some of my backlog movies / documentaries / lectures but its hard to find the time. I'm thinking 1.5 speed or somewhere around there.
Ideally the tech that lowers the tone so that everyone doesnt sound like chipmunks would be great, but not vital. I'd be open to using a different player or re-encoding if need be.
