Morning Discussion
by Alice O'Connor, Dec 28, 2009 5:00am PSTIt truly is the most wonderful time of the year. Friends and family gather round, feasts are held three days in a row and there's enough half-melted refrozen snow slush for you to feel some kind of victory. Unless, of course, so much flu courses through your veins that even your sloshed uncle is more alert, stabler and a better conversationalist than you.
I ended up mostly playing King's Bounty: Armored Princess. It's fun. That's my review.
I've tried almost every potion, poultice, syrup, pill, powder, lozenge and tincture under the sun, all to no avail. Desperate times call for desperate measures and it'll be a cold day in Walthamstow before I let Kwanzaa be ruined too so if I'm not on the mend by tomorrow it'll be the ole Dr. Bronner's Magic Soap. Dilute! Dilute! O.K.!

we had christmas eve off last week. cool. my boss called and insisted i come in after hours on wednesday to respond to an issue (workstation reboot with an explanation that you need to reboot occasionally and that doesn't mean anything is the matter). OK FINE no huge deal, not that i'm particularly thrilled to return to work after having left for the weekend.
then the shit hardware we call a vpn server because the boss thinks underbudgeting IT is a good way to save money decided to die. sometime friday or saturday cause i was using it friday evening. and he waits until 6 am this morning to call me then chews me out for responding too slowly; my start time is 8, i delayed my morning routine by a half hour to respond to the call, and arrived at 8:15... and he says i wasn't called over the weekend because he doesn't want to bother me at home, bull shit all lies.
fuck IT, seriously.
