good morning, IT folks.

i know it's early. you haven't had your coffee. you're wearing your little bluetooth headset -- which makes you look like a tool -- and i have no idea who you are, and my question is inane. but fucking humor me.

but my acrobat is not opening pdfs in firefox. it always has before. yes, i realize they open in IE. but the solution is NOT "something happened in firefox, sorry. use IE." and then you walk away.

that makes me want to reheat my coffee and dump it on your nuts.

    it opens to a page, but it's just blank. seems like acrobat isn't loading when linked up to FF.

      how large are they? for some reason it seems like there is a size barrier that firefox has, but I cannot say for sure.

        no, these have opened every day since i started fine. but they surreptitiously update our computers when i'm at home, and i'm sure IT fucked something up last night and just doesn't want to confess.

  I've worked in IT for awhile now, and I hate about 99.9% of all IT people. They're such arrogant little shitstains with the social skills of an AIDS monkey. There is rarely a day that goes by where I dont want to choke the fucking life out of an IT worker douchebag.

    ^^^ IAWTP, got so frustrated with it I decided to seperate myself from the industry and go into design work. Now I'm finding that 95% of them are pretensious assholes...
    
    Even still, I'll take the 95% over the 99.9%. =P

  Firefox always has crazy issues with AcroRead. I remember something about there being a PDF Warning Extension to make sure that they didn't load. lol.

    Yeah, I have that extension at home, it gives me a dialog box where I can choose to open in FF, open in Acrobat, or download whenever I click a .pdf link.

  check ur plugins. type
  about:plugins
  in the addressbar. go look for the adobe pdf plugin.
  
  might try a quick reinstall anyways. usually a quick fix to that kind of thing

    i wouldn't complain terribly much, it's just that i need like 10 fucking windows open all the time, and these report pdfs are 4 of them. and i don't like IE tabbed browsing, i just want everything in my FF with my sfwshack and my happiness.

  I would just like to reiterate that blue tooth headsets make you like like a complete tool. A friend of mine "doesnt care" what other people think, but going by that logic he should be walking around in his underwear too.

  someone here had that problem. uninstall and reinstall reader and then check tools->options->downloads->view and edit actions and set the plugin if it's not already set
