Nintendo Gives First Look at Ridley, Inkling, and Wolf Amiibo for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate

Super Smash Bros. Ultimate bringing in more fighters means more amiibo, with three all-new figures being unveiled on Wednesday night.

Thus far, every single fighter in Super Smash Bros. for Wii U has been immortalized as an amiibo figure. Nintendo's newest fighters, who are set to hit Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, will be no exception. However, they might be a little bit pricier than their predecessors.

Nintendo offered a first glimpse of all-new amiibo figures set to release alongside Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. These are amiibo for the all-new Ridley and Inkling, along with Wolf, who is making his return from Super Smash Bros. Brawl. While previous Smash Bros. amiibo sold for $12.99, Ridley, Inkling, and Wolf will retail for $15.99 each.

Look for these three new figures to release on December 7. Previous Super Smash Bros. figures are also set to re-release over the course of the year in anticipation of Ultimate, each retaining their original $12.99 price tag. But what about the other returning fighters, like Snake and Ice Climbers? Stay tuned, because it's unlikely that those characters will be left out entirely.

Ozzie has been playing video games since picking up his first NES controller at age 5. He has been into games ever since, only briefly stepping away during his college years. But he was pulled back in after spending years in QA circles for both THQ and Activision, mostly spending time helping to push forward the Guitar Hero series at its peak. Ozzie has become a big fan of platformers, puzzle games, shooters, and RPGs, just to name a few genres, but he’s also a huge sucker for anything with a good, compelling narrative behind it. Because what are video games if you can't enjoy a good story with a fresh Cherry Coke?

Interesting. I'm surprised that Wolf is one of the launch amiibos, I was expecting Daisy to be released alongside the Ridley and Inkling amiibo.

Wolf was in Melee so I get why he has preferential treatment.

Wait, Brawl, anyways he was in a previous game that wasn't Smash 4 so it makes sense.

Understandable, I just figured they'd lead off with the newcomers before releasing the veterans that haven't had amiibos

Wolf doesn't have a previous amibo does it? Maybe from the Starfox game on the Wii U but not from Smash 4.

Right, I was saying I was expecting them to lead off with the characters that are brand new in smash ultimate (ridley, inkling, and daisy so far) than doing vets from the previous games that don't have amiibos.

Ooooh, I read that wrong. I think Wolf is different enough from Fox (compared to Daisy vs. Peach) that they decided to do that first. Inkling and Ridley are brand new characters, so they make sense to push out the gate too.

True, and daisy already has an amiibo out through the super Mario line (which I think was for that crummy Mario party on wiiu?)

Its also safe to assume that they forecast Wolf selling more than Daisy if they're using Fox vs Peach as a point of comparison

Hell they could even use fox or falco vs the daisy amiibo, I've only seen her amiibo and waluigi around here these days
