How is everyone doing, What is new? On my front I got a new job and have joined a video game company and now work as a Gameplay engineer. Our project is a rad survival game + with a lot of potential juice, more on that when I can share more on it's details.

I have to say it has been a journey and I am happy to say I have passed the one month + one week mark. For the engine, we are using Unity which I have never worked on before, it is pretty cool stuff once you get used to it. The contrast / difference from my own engine and game dev work is pretty drastic yet the concepts transfer over and in the code as well, a lot of the stuff I did in my work is similar. Of course the tools and code base is very different from my own work which I assumed would be the case. We are doing 3D so that is really cool change since projects are 2D.

In terms of work I have been doing both the in game stuff and tools, I am really looking forward to Unity 6 when it drops and hope it works out for the project and helps us and also juices it up!!!!!

Massive mega shout out to fellow Shacker knytehawkk who approached me for the job when I posted on Shack that I was looking and convinced me to try out Unity and go for it. I am very grateful that you asked me and things have turned out very well and I am really happy right now \m/ :) \m/

Other than working really hard on game dev I have been playing a lot of video games when I have time. Holy there are so many insane games lately!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Sort of nuts how many have dropped in a months time, we really need 48 hour days.

- Ants Took My Eyeball : Terraria type game that focus on Dead Cells type gameplay and not building
- Turbo Kid : rad 2D platformer and through back to Super Metroid!

So, confession time. In light of the recent South Park Cyber Truck video.

A few days ago, I was feeling really low, like super low, and was walking to my convenience store when I spotted a Tesla Cybertruck driving down the street (Caesar Chaves) doing the speed limit, no drama. was so upset at EM and IS and PL and and Gregg Abbott declaring martial law at UT and I just told myself, "I'm going to flick this guy off" and I did.

As I was walking back home, he pulled up next to me and was in clear distress, he said "look, I'm not Elon Musk, I disagree with about everything he says, he's not the reason I bought this truck," I pressed my hands against the side, as we were talking I said "My buddy and I (CrustaR) promised each other to quiet our Tesla rage" and I said "oh man I just left prints on your door, I'm so sorry"

He said "I'm about to get it wrapped and just needed something to help promote my landscaping company " and he had a beautiful Australian Shepherd in the passenger seat who was like "this is my dad, he's super chill and awesome and he gives me treats"

And I was like totally melted, I said "Look I was totally out of line, I apologize, you clearly care about your company and your pup"

I felt sooo bad and it was super wholesome.

So, I'm no EM fan, but I decided I'm not going to flick off CT drivers anymore, unless they do something to deserve it.

My kid Parker is graduating from U of Utah in game design. Their team’s final project game just came out on Steam. It’s called Ivorfall. Parker did most of the 2D art, promo art, menus, etc. Check it out!

A few other teams games are almost out. Syke and Trash Pandamonium look pretty cool.

So my old assistant three years ago here in PR got weirder and weirder and suddenly called me crying and quit one weekend day. Then as we were transitioning all her accounts and contacts over the next few days she suddenly stopped responding. I thought she might have harmed herself..so I cold called her brother and found out she was in a mental hospital back in CT. I gave her a bunch of money and was like hey man you need to get back on your feet please if we can do anything to help we're rooting for ya. She wrote us a letter a year later in a second stay in a hospital that she apologizes for her behavior, she was strung out on alcohol / pills . The crazy thing is she was lobbying us at the end to be our nanny and my wife and I saw signs of very erratic behavior so we gently told her she is best at her current role.

Anyway fast forward to today when I googled her name -

Stamford police Sgt. Damein Rosa said the footage then shows Monsalve returning to the car to find that the pump had gotten stuck while filling the car, causing the tank to overflow with gas. Monsalve is then seen on camera taking the nozzle out of the gas tank as it is still pumping and pouring a trail of gasoline, Rosa said.

Monsalve then went back into the gas station, purchased a lighter using her credit card, and returned to her car, according to Rosa. She used the new lighter to ignite the trail of gasoline, which ultimately caused the undercarriage of her car to catch fire, Rosa said.

Rosa said the gas station clerk and an off-duty firefighter who saw the fire helped to extinguish it before it spread any further than the car.

Monsalve, who allegedly fled the scene on foot, was caught by police about 10 minutes afterward. When asked by police why she started the fire, she told them that she was “just fed up with people” in general, Rosa said.

I have to post one more thing, OMG!!!!!!!!! Star Trek: Strange New Worlds is the most amazing new show I have watched in a decades. This is legit TNG or any other top tier Star Trek that I have ever watched. Like Dude, Bro, it is truly amazing I am blown away how good it is and love it to death!!!!!!

I just love the emotion, relationships they have in it, how well it works, the stories, the message of the episodes, how it looks visually, and also like everyone is cool they nailed making cool characters why can't other shows and movies do this.

I am on the second episode of season two, if you at all love Star Trek and like me stopped at Voyager and then went into cryo-sleep 100% get it on blu-ray's now or stream it at the very least!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! LOL maybe everyone already did this :) , just in case you missed the boat like me, here is the FYI.
