Monday morning is here and that means the seal has been broken on a fresh batch of downloadables for the Nintendo Wii and DSi. This week's offerings include a pair of demos, one for Zombie Panic in Wonderland and the other for Racers' Islands - Crazy Racers.

Another pair of Capcom arcade classics are due in this week's batch of downloadable Wii and DSi releases, namely 1942 and Black Tiger. If you like your retro fun more hip than the 1980s, though, perhaps you were deeply inspired by the movie Whip It and might fancy becoming a roller derby queen in Jam City Rollergirls.

The first Nintendo download update of the New Year has dropped, bringing with it a handful of new Wii and DSi titles. Included in the release are Music On: Drums for DSi and Ghost Mania for the Wii, among others.

If you held this week's batch of downloadable Wii and DSi releases, shaking it gently like you were trying to guess the contents of a Christmas present, you would be treated to a cacophony of tunes from the four musical games released this week. These include lilt line, BIT.TRIP BEAT developer Gaijin's adaptation of the iPhone game, and Violin Paradise, which will let me finally live my dream of being a cello-playing faery.

Virtual Console releases are a lot like buses--you wait weeks for one, then two come along at once. Some hilarious video game observational comedy for you, there. Also in this week's batch of Wii and DSi downloadable releases is Nintendo's watery puzzler Fluidity and an exciting fireplace simulator we're told you may wish to run "while you eat with your family, celebrate with friends or dine with your partner." And why not?

Nintendo's 2009 WiiWare demo test program was evidently successful as the company announced today that demos of select downloadable titles will again begin to be offered from next Monday, some nine months after the trial period ended.
The initial lineup will include BIT.TRIP FATE, And Yet It Moves and Jett Rocket. New titles will be added on Mondays, which is when the WiiWare and DSiWare stores are updated. Read more »

Dog-lovers are in for a treat as those furred, loathsome wastes of flesh star in two of this week's downloadable Wii and DSi releases. If you prefer to run around yourself, though, there's also Triple Running Sports, which is described very specifically as "one of the most advanced recreational running games available for the WiiWare service."

Super Meat Boy's planned WiiWare release has been delayed following Team Meat's struggle to bring the game's size down to 39mb in order to squeeze by Nintendo's limit for the platform.

This week's batch of Nintendo downloads features two additions to the WiiWare service, Robox and Gene Labs--with the latter receiving a DSi version as well. Nintendo has also added a new game to the Virtual Console catalog, NeoGeo's Street Slam.
