Traveller's Tales and LucasArts today announced the latest fruit of their long-running plastic platonic relationship, the cartoon-inspired LEGO Star Wars III: The Clone Wars.

Clone Wars features "fan-favourite characters" from Star Wars movies as well as the animated series, plus "brand new battle modes, giving players unique, head-to-head combat and an upgraded level builder" as well as abilities such as "Squad command, Lightsaber slicing, Lightsaber jumps, long distance Jedi attacks and Grapple Tie-Ups." Following a recent discovery from info-sleuthing site superannuation, in which Demiurge Studios' Adam Rosenfield revealed that Rock Band developer Harmonix had enlisted Demiurge to help make Green Day: Rock Band, publisher MTV Games has confirmed the collaboration through statements to both Joystiq and Destructoid.

Demiurge Studios previously worked with Harmonix on the Rock Band: Country Track Pack and the Rock Band: Metal Track Pack, and were also responsible for the PC port of Mass Effect. MK12, the design firm behind the fantastic cinematics for The Beatles: Rock Band has also been brought on board to contribute. Read more »
