Fez re-releasing buggy patch due to cert costs

When Polytron released the first patch for Fez in June, it discovered that a bug was corrupting some player's saved games and promptly pulled the title update. Which is perfectly sensible. However, it's now re-releasing that very same patch without fixing it at all, "Because Microsoft would charge us tens of thousands of dollars to re-certify the game."

After several years and just as many delays, charming puzzle-platformer Fez finally has a firm release date: Friday, April 13 on Xbox Live Arcade. It's unlucky for some, and a break from XBLA's regular Wednesday releases, but it'll take more than superstitious claptrap to stop the winner of the Independent Games Festival 2012 Grand Prize.

Fez trailer spins out six minutes of gameplay

Polytron's pretty puzzle-platformer Fez is cock of the walk lately, winning the IGF 2012 Grand Prize last week, picking up IndieCade awards in October, and being one of the games documented in Indie Game: The Movie. As its Xbox Live Arcade launch looms on the horizon, a new trailer shows six minutes of straight gameplay footage from what'll be the trial version.

Warp arrives one month late on PC and PS3

Warp is part of the Xbox Live Arcade House Party this year and, as usual, that affords Microsoft a window of exclusivity. Developer Trapdoor has announced that the game will hit PC and PlayStation Network on March 13, almost a full month after its February 15 XBLA date.

Fez delayed into 'early 2012'

Charming indie platformer Fez has once again slipped into another year, with the Xbox Live Arcade title now slated for release some time in "early 2012." Still, chin up, developer Polytron Corporation has also released a lovely new "long screenshot" video of a dark and stormy night.
