QUBE coming to Wii U, possibly Vita

The puzzle game QUBE is hitting another platform (or two) in the near future. Developer Toxic Games announced over the weekend that a Wii U version is in the works, and hinted at the possibility of a Vita version as well.

QUBE coming to Mac; iOS version prototyped

Indie developer Toxic Games has announced some fresh plans for its recently released first-person puzzler, Q.U.B.E. (Quick Understanding of Block Extrusion). I personally enjoyed the game quite a bit, which is why it's pleasing to discover that the developer is already working on bringing the game to Mac and OnLive, and that the game is also even being prototyped for iOS devices.

Q.U.B.E. recoups Indie Fund investment after 4 days

In 2010, a group of indie superstars set up their own development fund, the Indie Fund, to give the next generation of inventive indies a leg-up. Evidently, they've got a good eye for indies. The first IF-backed game, Q.U.B.E. by Toxic Games, earned enough to recoup the investment within only four days following its release through Steam on January 6.

Engaging first-person puzzle games are still a fairly rare breed of game. When they're well made, they teach players how to use a blend of both new and familiar gameplay conceits, often teaching us a new types of puzzle logic. Q.U.B.E., a new title by indie developer Toxic Games, falls right into that wheelhouse, using a combination of crisp, clean visuals and some fun (and at times, dastardly) gameplay mechanics.

QUBE goes live on Steam today

QUBE, a first-person puzzle game originally slated for mid-December, is hitting Steam today. Developer Toxic Games announced that it will hit the service at 10 am PST, so by the time you're reading this, it may be up already.

QUBE, first Indie Fund game, coming December 16

The Indie Fund, a funding pool created by successful indie developers, has gotten its first due date on one of the projects it helped raise. QUBE, a first-person game that uses colored cubes to complete a series of challenge puzzles, will hit on December 16. It will be available on Steam, Desura, and Playsim for $14.99.
