Doom 3 open-sourcing held up while Carmack writes new code

Chief id Software technomancer John Carmack is now writing new Doom 3 code to dodge legal issues surrounding the rendering technique which gave Doom 3 its lovely shadows, so the engine can be open-sourced.

Rage PC patch released; launch problems 'out of our control'

A patch for Rage on PC was issued over the weekend, fixing up a few bugs and adding new options. id's John Carmack has also spoken on the driver issues that saw "half of our PC customers" get "a product that basically didn't work."

Rage is three discs on Xbox 360, requires 8GB install on PS3
