At last week's Game Developers Conference, I got a chance to get a first-look and some hands-on playtime with Rochard, Recoil Games' upcoming title for the PlayStation Network. In one of the conference suites at San Francisco's W Hotel, I was greeted by Rochard's Creative Director, Burt Kane, who got me up to speed while I played through a few brief sections that showed off an array of Rochard's different gameplay elements.

Resistance 3, developer Insomniac's upcoming third chapter in its well-liked "aliens versus humans" series was on display at GDC in San Francisco this week, and I got to spend a bit of time banging away at a portion of the game's competitive multiplayer component.
The demo on-hand focused on a single team-deathmatch multiplayer level set in a dusty and decrepit prison located in the Republic of Chad. It was revealed that all of Resistance 3's multiplayer maps will be set in eclectic locales outside of the United States. Read more »

On Monday, Atomic Games announced Breach with little to no detail. Today, they stopped holding back. The game uses technology developed for Six Days in Fallujah to offer fully-destructible buildings and cover.
The game is playable at PAX East 2010, but I had a chance to play a build of the game on the Xbox 360 earlier this week and I came away impressed. The game is still a little rough around the edges, lacking the polish of a final version, but I had a really great time playing against Atomic's QA team. Read more »
