Considering Fuse is the first multiplatform release from Ratchet & Clank creator Insomniac Games, one might expect a little more buzz (that's an industry term) around the shooter. Perhaps we're a little tired of third-person cover-based shooters. But gamebees (likewise) can often be attracted with demoflowers, so publisher EA plans to plant a few (release a demo) next Tuesday.
Who would win in a fight? Batman, Wonder Woman, or Lex Luthor? While the answers are available in my fanfic, you can create your own story in the free playable demo of Injustice: Gods Among Us. Available on April 2nd on PlayStation Network and April 3rd on Xbox Live Marketplace, the demo will include these three characters and the "Gotham City" stage.
"Fans can get a taste of the included characters' unique super powers and individual move-sets as they destroy elements of the world and fight through the multi-tiered arena," the press release notes.
When Ubisoft announced it was delaying the nearly-finished Wii U edition of Rayman Legends so it could launch alongside Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 versions, it discovered fans--and even developers--weren't wholly satisfied with that. Quelle suprise! It hastily promised a second demo for Wii U, and has now revealed that'll actually be the full online challenge mode.
In spite of being nearly complete with the Wii U version of Rayman Legends, Ubisoft delayed the game from February to September--a seven month wait for gamers that are already hungry for new content. Wii U owners were even more frustrated when Ubisoft admitted that the delay was solely to accommodate the just-announced PS3 and Xbox 360 versions of the game.
"There are no issues with the game development," Ubisoft PR specialist Sarah Irvin admitted. "The only reason for the delay is to release on multiple platforms."
With Tropico 4 developer Haemimont's gangster strategy game Omerta - City of Gangsters arriving on PC next week, publisher Kalypso has released a demo offering a taste of mobster life. Omerta is more action-oriented than Tropico, with turn-based tactical combat, so grab the 793MB download here at Shacknews and see how it shapes up.
So far, the Wii U eShop has a lone demo: FIFA Soccer 13. But, if football isn't quite your fancy, you'll be glad to know that next week, the eShop will be updated with a demo for the Wii U-exclusive platformer, Rayman Legends.
Nyooooom! That's not the sound of a Need for Speed: Most Wanted demo hitting Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, because downloads don't make noises beyond the very faint buzzing of electrons inaudible. Press your ear close to your console and you may just hear it, as EA released a single-player slice today.
If you didn't pounce upon Runic's delightful action-RPG Torchlight II when it launched for PC yesterday, perhaps a demo might pique your interest. A small slice is available for your playing pleasure, in case you're wondering if it's as fun to click on monsters until they explode in a shower of coins and swords in the sequel (it is).
Do you want an early peek at the next big Fable game? Then, pop onto Xbox Live Marketplace and download the demo for Fable: The Journey. Do note: you will need an Xbox Live Gold account and a Kinect sensor.
Why, you ask? In case you haven't been following our coverage, The Journey is a Kinect-exclusive entry into the Fable franchise. While sitting down, you'll be able to swing your arms wildly to conjure and aim spells, and even go first-person horseback riding. I rather liked it at E3, so why not give it a try?
On September 18, both Xbox 360 and PS3 players will be able to get an early taste of Resident Evil 6--a game that failed to impress us at E3. Capcom notes that this will be a brand new demo, featuring "completely different content" from the demo released earlier this year for owners of the Xbox 360 version of Dragon's Dogma.
And the traditional cry goes up, "Kick the ball! Kick it with your foot! Put your foot to the ball to make a football that's footbaaall!" You see, the crowd knows Konami has released a demo for Pro Evolution Soccer Football 2013, available now for PC and Xbox 360 and due on PlayStation 3 next week.
Seeing as this is American Independence Day, some of you might want to celebrate no longer living under the protection of a divine monarch, perhaps by playing a video game. A PC demo's out for Airtight's Quantum Conundrum now, so why not see what the new first-person puzzler from Portal co-creator Kim Swift is about before you munch down on your hotdogs and whatnot.
When a demonstrative slice of sandy shooter Spec Ops: The Line drifted onto consoles ealier in the month, publisher 2K promised that a PC demo would follow in June. And indeed it will, on June 19, 2K has now said, along with revealing the PC system requirements and its use of Steamworks as DRM.

[Update] 2K Games has confirmed to Shacknews that a PC demo will arrive in June before launch.
A demo is out today on consoles for Spec Ops: The Line, Yager's face-shooting take on Heart of Darkness. However, publisher 2K Games hasn't released one for the PC, or not yet anyway. As Kurtz said, "The horror! The horror!"
