Hey, you! Have you played Natural Selection 2 yet? If you fancy giving the FPS-RTS a go, today's your lucky day, as it'll be free for all and sundry to try and play on Steam from this morning until Sunday. To put a cherry on top, developer Unknown Worlds is cutting the price by 50% for the weekend too, bringing it down to $12.50.

Wadjet Eye Games has done fine work to keep adventure games, publishing and also developing many respectable click 'em ups. If you've been stuck under a rock, perhaps trying bizarre combinations of items in your pockets to lift it, you can now pick up a healthy chunk of Wadjet's catalog for an Abe. A new pay-what-you-want bundle offers seven games published by Wadjet for as little as $5, including sci-fi noir Gemini Rue and Resonance.

They're playing Superbrothers: Sword & Sworcery EP, see, and you can too for cheap, as it's been added to the pay-what-you-want Humble Bundle With Android #5, along with two other games. You don't need to let it spam Twitter, mind.

Pay-what-you-want bundleer Indie Royale launched another bargain bag of video games over the weekend, this time showcasing six assorted debuts, including several games' debut appearances on PC and some studios' debut game. Perhaps most noteworthy is Cognition: An Erica Reed Thriller, an adventure game made by the folks behind free King's Quest revival The Silver Lining and which Gabriel Knight creator Jane Jensen consulted on.

Xbox Live Games on Demand typically ends up making you pay more than retail price--even during sales--for games which don't need to be pressed, packaged, shipped, or stored, which makes it essentially a costly way of saving shelf space. Microsoft's knocking up to 85% off off loads of games in a string of daily deals it's calling 'The Xbox LIVE Ultimate Game Sale,' starting with the Halo series, and for once it actually makes digital Xbox 360 games (mostly) cheaper than physical.

Gosh, so many fine games are going cheap this weekend that it's hard to pick one out to highlight, but I do need to choose one for the headline image. Let's say Dark Souls for $15. If you've only got $5 in your virtual wallet this weekend, don't be down: blow what little money you have on digitally-distributed PC games. For $5 or less you can buy Deus Ex: Human Revolution, Dear Esther, Batman: Arkham City, Borderlands, or several other respectable games. Bump your limit up to $10 and, well, you're looking at all the Dragon Ages, both Crysises, Giana Sisters: Twisted Dreams, and more treasures. And if you're keenly awaiting next week's launch of Aliens: Colonial Marines, you can pre-order that for $37.49.

PlayStation Plus membership is already a pretty redonculous bargain, given how many free games it gets you for PS3 and Vita, but Sony has sweetened the deal further. For the next few months, buying a year's PS Plus membership will get you a bonus three months. That's three extra months of free games, discounts, and wondering why Xbox Live is still so expensive.
