CyberConnect2 has been working on its Naruto Ultimate Ninja Storm games and Asura's Wrath. However, it has one more game up its sleeve: a new addition to the .hack franchise. Namco Bandai and CyberConnect2 have announced a new addition to the .hack franchise. Fans were initially disappointed to find out that the new project would not be a new game to the PS2 RPG series, but a 3D CG movie adaptation of the franchise.
However, it appears that the .hack games are being revived in some form. Namco Bandai announced that the Blu-ray release of the movie will be a "hybrid" disc, not unlike the upcoming Tekken Hybrid. In addition to the movie, the Blu-ray disc will include a "small game."
