char as care or car *smack* *smack* (a cs prof of mine introduced me to this doozy)
digit as dig-it *smack* *smack* *smack* (another cs prof, couldn't tell if he was kidding or not but he did it with out fail for the duration of the semester)

If you are suggesting that Cal-Va-Ry is a legit way of pronouncing "Ca-Val-Ry", then I have nothing more to say to you, as that is utterly ridiculous. The V comes before the L. Anyone who suggests otherwise is speaking a different language. That's just silly. Take a look at any respectable published dictionary. It's not there. That's *JUST AS BAD* as saying that "Nukular" is a correct pronunciation of "Nuclear". There is no u between the c and the l. Any suggestion otherwise is incorrect, plain and simple.
