Canon 50D w/ battery grip
Manfrotto tripod w/ ballhead
Canon 24-70mm 2.8L
Graduated neutral density filter
ISO 100 (always)
F/22
1.3" exposure (just enough to make the water around the rocks look soft and fluffy. I took shots with exposures all the way from 1/60" to 5" that night, and liked the ones right in the middle the most)
When shooting scenes like this, it's important to take a lot of different shots at a lot of different apertures/exposures. Sometimes it's raelly easy to judge how long of an exposure you need (like with a waterfall/running creek) and sometimes it's REALLY hard. I find that wave shots are some of the hardest.
