I love the way that thing looks though, I'm a sucker for yellow and black (or grey and black in the case of the old Namco arcade sticks) and it looks so fucking sexy, but its not practical for me...I'll probably just get a Filco like this one:

I'd love to try out its brown MX switches...as this razor blackwidow is just sliiiiightly too loud and the keys are just a tiny bit too stiff...and I don't quite like the layout...that filco has the layout I'm used too/want and the cherry mx browns sound like they'd be what I'm looking for.

Those are just the Cherry switches...mechanical keyboards generally use some sort of mechanical switch (think arcade buttons...Cherry makes (or at least made) the switches for American arcade buttons and sticks btw). There are Alps switches (think old Apple clicky keyboards...like the old Apple II keyboards and what have you). There are buckling springs (like the IBM Model M's).
Most keyboards use rubber dome membrane switches...which aren't tactile and have a "mushy" feel. Membrane switches aren't all bad...I loved my old Mitsumi...and some of the old early 90's membrane boards were decent (note there are also the flat shitty membrane boards...they're a different thing...you find them on microwaves and some really really old computers...they suck ass in a different way entirely).
