So, you ladies and gentlemen (and tranny's and nullos and that one individual who's into dolphins) may recall that my Radeon HD4890 fried itself and, well, I thought it was out of warranty, so I bought a Geforce GTX470 (freebie copy of Mafia 2 included swung that for me over a 460, but I digress) to replace it in my primary system.
I later discovered that the HIS warranty on the card was two years, so I contacted them and they directed me to talk to my supplier, which in this (and most) instance(s) is Scan.co.uk, so I did, the card was sent to them at the beginning of November
They tested it and found no fault.
I gave them a list of things to attempt to run that had shown issue, they tested it and found no fault, I told them to try testing it not on an open testbed as it's a heat related issue, the UK got horrible snow and everything ground to a halt for a bit... and then it sat there for 6 weeks with them doing nothing with it, thursday (the 6th) at 13:30 or so a phonecall was made to scan to give them a nudge, they claimed that it had been noted to test it in a case, but the test had not been performed at 16:25 I received THIS in my inbox
"With regards to rma xxxxxx we have retested this card in a pc case and found it still to have no fault.
As such the card will be returned to you free of charge.
Regards"
Friday, in the middle of a snowstorm, the delivery driver walked up my rather lengthy driveway, so I left the card packaged to let it warm up slowly and avoid condensation and whatnot on it, at about 7:30 this morning, I tested it. in a different machine to the one where it initially manifested the fault, with the case sidepanel open for maximum airflow which has very few common components (same model of mainboard, everything else sans OS and card different)
And, well, would any of you guys ever have the gumption and indeed chutzpah to claim that this has no fault?

POST logo and BIOS are corrupt as well.
I'm thoroughly apoplectic at this point in time, I mean seriously, NINE WEEKS for them to send it back in the same non-working state it was in to begin with?
My non-amusement levels are about to overrun the boundaries for an unsigned 32bit integer >:(
I've spent a LOT of money with Scan over the years (I've been buying from them for... twelve years? great now I feel old :() but I'm thoroughly thoroughly annoyed at this juncture... So... yeah... Internet alerted!
