How about leaving as is or moving spawn, with the possibility of a reset if it's not fun.
We might find that it's fun battling monsters and each other in our pre-built structures, with lots of items to fight them with. Then again, even with moving spawn, it could suck. So we should leave the option of doing a reset, if things don't work out with no reset.
Of course keep backups of the server, maybe one day we'd want it back, if he ever splits up 'adventure' and building mode.
