I want a tablet. I want one bad. I made the determination to STOP collecting paper comic books and only start buying digital ones. This is because I just don't have the room to keep collecting them and their quality fades over time. Anyway, I want a decent color tablet to read them on in bed or on the Metro.
I own an iPhone 3G. I have had it for 18 months. At first I loved it. It could do no harm. But after awhile, I did get frustrated that I couldn't just download programs off the Internet and load them up. I became annoyed at the closed aspect of the platform. I was pushed over the edge and swore to never buy another iPhone or Apple product again, when iOS 4.0 came out and made my phone almost completely useless (this issue has since been resolved in subsequent updates).
I love Google products. Google owns me. I figured my next phone will be an Android phone (albeit not until my 3GS dies). There are rumors of Android Tablets hitting the market in 6 months or so. This seems like it might be ideal. Google makes good software and assumably the platform will be open.
But maybe I should just get an iPad. It is available now. Has decent comic book readers. All my iPhone games I already bought will work on it. I forgive Apple for the iOS 4.0 issues on the 3GS because they made it better.
I just don't know. It is alot of money to plop down on something that will really just be my comic book reader and casual game machine. Not that I don't want one, I just want to make the right choice.
