For those that followed the news on Shack's front page, you saw the article pointing to Frictional's blog / postmortem release of Amnesia. In a quick recap, they had various projected levels of sales based on how well the game would review. It turns out the game reviewed better than they had hoped, but sales are not scaling with great reviews like they thought would happen. Furthermore, one of the reviewers leaked the full game onto torrents a day before it was released (which by itself is really, really shitty). So they said while they're happy with how the game is doing, and the future is looking "good", they were not yet financially secure for their next project.
Well as it turns out, the world IS full of some great people and over at the steam forums, http://forums.steampowered.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1436470 , people are gifting the game to others and asking them to do the same in return. It seems to be having a positive affect as Amnesia has re-entered Steam's current top 10 sellers list.
Thought this was a cool story worth sharing.

The news about the Indie Bundle and Introversion's troubles was extremely fucked up as well. I struggle with my faith in humanity, and shit like that just dashes my hopes that much further because I expect more out of the people who are in a position to know how to pirate software.
Penumbra was cool, I still want to play more of it.
Amensia looks awesome. I don't have a lot of spare cash these days as I am shooting an indie film for free (well, for a percentage of net, but it's an indie and will likely never make any money) for 20-22 days (damn weather), but hopefully I can pick it up in the future.
