My own quick translation of all the quotes by Tomas Gop and Adam Badowski from the interview. I`m not gonna translate the rest of the article as its badly written and its not a good read so i`m gonna skimm through it and post all the important new info to go with the quotes in an hour or so... For now you have to live with the quotes only

Sorry for spelling errors and such i just retyped it in english without too much thinking

"Making the first game we already knew that there will be a continuation which can be seen in the

      first game`s epilogue"

      About Story improvements:

"There were a lot of "flat" elements in the first story, now we have a story that we were creating for a verry long time and its really thought out. We continue ALL the plots that have been opened in the first title, this is a part of a big saga and we`re gonna precise who is the Grand enemy"

      Memories system:

"We start to dig into witchers memory, we explain what happened after the death of Geralt at the end of the books. We`re introducing a special "memories system" - something like the already known flashbacks but while flashbacks show us how we "messed up" during the game the Memories let us interprete what happened before. You will encounter them before some important events so it will help you make certain decisions. It will blur the line betwean good and evil even more and will aid storytelling"

      Importing saves from witcher 1:

"If you import your save than some extra goodies will come, there are special moments in the game that focus on our choices in the previous game. Apart from that all the swords gold and items from your previous game get imported to. You will be able to keep the old look as well as the way your character developed. It`s worth mentioning that Geralt will not loose his memory again (lol). Its a direct continuance of the saga after all"

      About Combat system:

"There are no separate combat styles. There are weak and strong moves that you can combine freely. Dynymic style of fights pulls us closer to enemies that you can focus on. Depending on the distance you either strike or jump in. The change of direction is lightning fast. You can button mash a bit but you can also try a more strategic approach and make combos like fast fast strong. Betwean each move you will be able to cast signs without breaking a combo. It will all depend on the difficulty you choose. On the easiest level all you will have to do is press one button most of the time to be honest but our game is a real RPG focused on story, choices and their consequences. Combat is only an addition and not a Top importance element"

      Interface use simplification

"We changed the interface its easierto use, map will also be easier to use, you will have everything nicely explained and there will be suggestions on what to do next, so that after a breake we can go back to it easier"

      TEAM MATES
"Our companions have their own inteligency and are buffed up. You can take one of them on some of the sidequests or sometimes when the story dictates you can have more companions near you. Our teammates fight by themselves and choose their actions independently but we can help him. They will try not to hurt you despite the fact that the game has no "friendly fire"

"Depending on how much effort you invest into knowing them and how you treat them you might encounter some new story plots to explore, different companions - different game experience. Companions and our relations with them (Represented by more than just dialogue choices) will also affect the ending.

      About Women and cards

"In The witcher 2 we will have mature relations with female characters instead of collecting cards."

"The cards would probably fit 15 year olds, we aim for a different audience. We want to do this more like in the movies. Each woman has a story, moods... Anyway everybody is putting sex into games now, we had it long time ago. For me the coolest intimate relationship were in Heavy Rain - two lost souls getting close in a hotel room."

      DIALOGUES
"The situation in dialogues is fully directed but all the things happening around us are random and of course depend on the situation and our reputation. There is no scripting here so the things we see in the background might be verry different in each playthrough"

      AREAS:
"each area has its own vibe that is not only connected to flora or terrain structure but also with colours - its greener in the forest bluer near the water etc"

      More about NPCs
"Its not like in GTA that when you turn around the NPC disappears, each one has a name, each one will remember you"

      Ecosystem

"We have already implemented a special "ecosystem" that makes you walk and fight with monsters in the forest in a special way. You have to find their nests using your Witcher skills. To clear the nest for examople you can use various methods. One of them is trapping a monster feeding him with a special substance and than after letting him free tracking and following him using your medalion. When you reach the nest you fight and destroy the defences and gain alchemical supplies"

      ABOUT THE ENGINE
"Our new technology lets us make an RPG without any restrictions that AURORA gave us in mass quantities. What`s more - Aurora needed constant rewriting. Now designers can finally work without the help of programmers"

      30-35 hours of main storyline

"We want to make our game shorter but much more intense. There will be no "fadex quests" (-- ?? dunno what he means"). Because of that we can prommise more goodies connected to gameplay"
