There's no search for the problem, the problem exists and is right in front of our faces. Why do you think I use ClickToFlash (Safari OS X) and FlashBlock (Chrome Win XP) when I'm browsing (and I'm not the only one, a lot of people do)? It massively improves regular performance and prevents annoying crashes.
Besides, why would we want the web to increasingly become Flash when we can have totally open standards that don't require a plug-in and don't rely on updates from one company? If we don't like our browsers current implementation of HTML5 standards, we can switch to another browser. With Flash we can switch to whatever browser or platform we want and we are still stuck with Flash.
