Ok, if you're like me and have been having trouble with Crysis crashing to desktop after changing settings or other changes in Windows 7 64-bit, I think I stumbled upon a couple of potential solutions.
1.) Check to see if you're running AVG Resident Shield. Apparently there's a weird interaction between Crysis changing profile info in your "...User/Documents/My Games/Crysis" folder which causes the CTD bug. The solution presented was to go into AVG Resident Shield and create a path exception pointing to your My Games/Crysis folder. I used this and I'm no longer experiencing the CTD bug when I change settings.
2.) If (1) doesn't work for you, some guys over at the EA forums have been experimenting with replacing the CryAction.dll file from 1.2 (instead of 1.21), which has been working for them. Obviously on Steam you can't manage your game version, but they provided a link to a CryAction.dll file from 1.2.
